Vietnam To Host The 8Th Iufro Meeting 19-25 March 2017 1

The beautiiful Vietnamese town of Sapa will host the 8th Meeting of the IUFRO Working Party for Phytophthoras in Forests and Natural Ecosystems on the 19-25 March 2017. These international conferences bring together the worlds best scientists working on Phytophthoras to share their latest scientific developments. Abstract submissions are still open until the end of September, as are early-bird registrations.

The 8th IUFRO meeting is sponsored by IUFRO, VAFS, CPSM and Murdoch University. To regsiter, submit your abstract or for more information visit http://www.iufrophytophthora2017.org/.

Many past and present DWG committee members, including Dr Giles Hardy, Dr Treena Burgess, Dr Chris Dunne, Kat Sambrooks and Dr Ian Colquhoun, have attended and presented at the IUFRO Meetings since they started, back in 1999. In fact, the 2nd IUFRO Meeting held in Albany, Western Australia in 2001 sparked the formation of the DWG’s annual DIG Conference. These IUFRO meetings are an excellent opportunity for Phytophthora research scientists and disease managers from all over the world to come together to discuss their latest research findings and to come up with new ideas and theories to help win the fight against Phytophthora diseases.
